By 2030, the median age in the US will be 40 and there will be more women between the ages of 40 and 64 than women under 18.  According to the Female Founders Fund, answering the needs of women experiencing menopause is a $600 billion opportunity for companies—including those selling skincare, cosmetics, haircare and wellness products.

In one AARP study, 58% of women said they are more likely to purchase products from brands that use women who like like them in their advertising.  But there’s a lot more to it than that.

Products need to be formulated to address the needs of this powerful consumer base, who is undergoing change and holds the purse strings.
